Saturday, March 11th, 7 pm, at Artsriot! Burlington's first Purim Masquerade Ball and Political Theater w/dance and merriment! Come celebrate springtime and be entertained as we witness the wild re-telling of the Book of Esther and the skewering of our political leaders and recent events. The Ball is non-religious and dedicated to the experience of turning everything upside down and inside out. Led off by the Brass Balagan Orchestra followed by Barika, the evening will be filled with theater, dance, and strong spirits. There will be a cash bar with the awesome live music! The Book of Esther was composed in 400 BCE when the Jews lived in Persia. Since then, it is celebrated by the reading of text and costumes, political theater, and an excess of alcohol consumption. Get baby sitters for your kids now: this is a 21+ event! $15/ticket.
