Peace Corp in Mexico: a post Kabbalat Shabbat conversation

  • Ruach haMaqom 168 Archibald Street Burlington, VT, 05401 United States (map)

Friday, June 22nd, 6 pm, My former Bat MItzvah student, Aviva Gottesman writes: I am a Vermonter currently living in rural Mexico, serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. My work involves collaborating with communities and institutional partners to conserve natural resources and improve forest health in a natural protected area. After living in Israel for two years, my life and work in a tiny, traditional, Catholic community in Mexico has many challenges and rewards for me as a young, Jewish woman. Join me for a discussion about being the first Jewish person in a remote community in Mexico, practicing Tikkun Olam through volunteer service, and my experience living and learning with our neighbors to the South. Hope to see you there, muchas gracias!
